Polynucleotides

Everything you need to know

How does Polynucleotides work?

Polynucleotides are long chains of purified DNA fragments, often derived from fish sources like salmon. When injected into the skin, they stimulate fibroblast activity, encouraging your body to produce more collagen and elastin. This helps repair damaged tissue, improve hydration, and reduce inflammation.

They nudge your cells to regenerate, restore, and enhance glow. They’re especially effective in delicate areas like under the eyes and neck, where skin is naturally a lot thinner and other treatments have been rendered ineffective.

What are the benefits of Polynucleotides?

It’s all about natural rejuvenation, giving your own fibrobasts a boost to produce your own collagen and elastin. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Improved skin texture and elasticity

  • Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles

  • Enhanced hydration and glow

  • Support for healing acne scars, rosacea, and pigmentation

  • Results that build gradually and last up to 2 years

The treatment is minimally invasive, and some clients notice visible improvements within 6–8 weeks, majority notice after 12 weeks. For optimal results, a course of 3–4 sessions spaced a few weeks apart is recommended.

What are the risks of Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotide treatments are generally well tolerated, but as with any injectable, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Bruising and swelling at the injection site (usually resolves within 72 hours, but can take longer)

  • Temporary redness or tenderness

  • Rare allergic reactions, especially if you have sensitivities to fish-derived products

Are Polynucleotides right for me?

If your skin feels tired, dehydrated, or you’re noticing early signs of ageing, polynucleotides might be your perfect match. They’re suitable for:

  • Clients seeking natural-looking rejuvenation

  • People wanting to improve skin quality without adding volume

Whether you're in your thirties looking to refresh your under-eye area or in your fifties wanting to boost collagen in the neck, this treatment adapts beautifully to your skin’s needs.

Quick Facts

  • Polynucleotides are long chains of nucleotide molecules linked by covalent bonds, forming the structural backbone of DNA and RNA, they help regenerate and hydrate the skin. They work by stimulating fibroblasts, improving elasticity, reducing inflammation, and enhancing overall skin quality—making them ideal for rejuvenation treatments.

  • After a course of treatments, they results can last up to 6 months. After 6 months one syringe is usually suffice as maintenance.
